There is a post somewhere about the new firmware and modules...it's like a two step process now or something like that....

If you have the avast pressure switch, you can wire that to one of the ato ports and still have a pressure switch in lieu of a float. Can then use the float for backup. And you could still use both floats...

I have my two float switches wired in parallel doing different things connected to one ato port. The higher one watches my sump for an overflow (and doubles as a salt water ato during water changes) and the lower one alarms if my sump is running too low and my pump may cavitate soon.

The Avast kit has an Apex digital connector. Could I cut it to expose the bare wire, and then is there a link I can purchase the cable end similar to what is on the end of the RA float switches?

Of all things, I had everything up and running, and I forgot where I stored my Jebao cables! Just running the pump normally for now. Was so disappointed. Hopefully I can find them tonight.

Where can you get the ends that are on the RA float switches?
PM me if you don't want to put the link in the thread or at least give me the name of them and I can look it up. I just don't know what they are called.

I'm looking for the 3 like the ATO switch and the 2 like on the dimming or temp probe.

They might be the same as the dimming ports. Those are in the store. I'm sure if its different Roberto can supply them.

The 3 port female plug.

I don't have those, but you could get the temperature probe extension and cut it.

Are they just PC fan connectors?

These are the crip connectors so you will need the crip tool as well. The time to make a single temp probe extention cable is rather painfull but it can be done

The costs on the fan connectors is very good and shipping to CA was not too bad.

What are some recommended durations for some of these modes? I've been unable to make a wave with short pulse and NT mode.

Something just doesn't seem right with the Vortech modes. I added Jimmy's case code after using the RA Wizard, and the modes just don't seem to be working as intended.

Unless I am getting the speed/durations wrong in the portal, I'm not sure what the issue could be aside from modifying the code. Pulse modes like short pulse just seem to ramp up and down way too fast to make a wave. NTM doesnt really ramp, reef crest doesn't really change speed very often.. etc.

I copied Jimmy's code exact and added it to the loop section.

I think it needs a break at the end, or just get rid of the default, comment it out and see if the modes work. I probably should fix that.

I agree Bhazard. I can't get the vortech modes to compare to W1, or else mode from the stock controller.

How can we improve?

I'm very new to my RA. I'm sure this is a simple fix within type coding. I liked the randomness of the else mode from the stock controller. It would change speeds very rapidly and create a lot of random turbulence. Quick speed ramps, then slow down, and even some pulse. I'm sure once I understand the code better this wouldn't be an issue.

Try this code. it something Roberto put together for another person on the forum.
I uploaded it yesterday and it is pretty nice, not as random as the else mode, but good.

I just saw it in another thread and thought I would try it.
The 70% was a little much for my 55 gallon tank so I dropped it to 50%.

binder explained what all the variables mean in post about 1/2 way down the page if you wanted to modify it any.

Just some info.
The first set of WP25's have hit the US.
I should be getting mine by Monday of next week at the latest.

I'm having mine shipped overnight so hopefully I'll get it tomorrow, but FedEx is saying there may be delays because Tornadoes in Oklahoma are causing delays and disruptions.

Bummer there is no speed control in the controller. Wish I had a way to control them, oh wait, I have a Reef Angel.

I guess that means my idea to design a drop in PCB replacement for their controller might still be viable.

Mine came to my office this morning.
I'll put them in and take some video when I get home after the son is in bed.

Here are some pictures really nothing new.
The only negative I can see so far is that they went with a wall wart transformer as opposed to the power brick that is on the WP-40.

This will take up more room in a power strip, I think the Reef Angel has plenty of room for this kind of plug, but it doesn't really need to get power from the RA. It can get power from a power strip plugged directly into the wall and then it is controlled speed wise by the dimming port.
It can also be shut off for feeding or water changes by setting the speed to 0%.
Still waiting to here back from Wystan about the speed control he told me would be on these.

Still haven't found a setting that can make a wave similar to what the Jebao box W1 mode can do. Anyone have a setting that can do this or comes close?
