Now it's creeping the other direction.
I calibrated 2 times over the weekend, and within a day it's starts to creep up towards 36.
I calibrated my refractometer, then checked my water and it's spot on 35. Calibrate with the probe in the tank with my tank water, and it holds 35 for a few hours. Then it starts creeping upwards.
Could the probe be bad?

It it still with that filter attached to the probe?

Yes.............I'm going to remove it and see what happens.
Before the foam filter experiment it was dropping, now with the foam filter on it's rising.

Ok, foam pre filter is removed.
Re-calibrated again with same process.
See where it goes from here.

It was up to 39ppt today, I just went thru the calibration process again. Every time I do the calibration, the number is in a different range.......from as low as 1600's and as high as 2100's.
I think it's time for a warranty claim on either the probe or the whole module. It's only 2 months old, and definitely shouldn't be doing this.

I have 4 things in my sump that could be putting voltage in the water, and I'm going to test each of them individually in an outside container of water. 2 heaters, skimmer pump, and reactor pump.
In my display tank, there are only my 2 Jebao wavemaker pumps. They will be tested as well.

Hi again.
As reported before, I had the same problems with my salinity probe, and as I described in a previous post, I did order a new salinity probe. I have now installed it and the module is working perfectly! To be fair, I also relocated the probe into a different part of the sump. I will move the new salinity probe back to the old place in the sump just to see if it was the probe or the location. At least it's working now, and I'm happy!

For being about 2 months old, I shouldn't have to pay for a new probe.
It seems to be working better lately, but I have lost all trust in it reading accurately.

Did you find the problem with your salinity probe? Was it stray voltage or did you get a new probe?

I narrowed it down to my grounding probe, which was added right before the salinity probe went crazy.
I have removed the grounding probe, and the salinity module is working correctly again.

Cool, glad you found the root cause!
