looking to buy, but the plus version or the regular version?

I'm not quite sure exactly how much memory I'm going to need.

Do you all find yourselves wishing (or glad) that you bought the one with more memory? I don't know how complicated I'm going to get. I'll be controlling the following:

4 submersible pumps
2 dosers
1 return pump
1 set of lights (on/off only, no dimming for now)
1 skimmer
1 ATO pump

Can anyone recommend one or the other?

I have the plus. I have never needed the extra memory, but as I expand later to include LED controls and a larger tank I'll use if for sure. You can get a regular one now and buy an upgrade board later, but I'd start with a Plus now and be done with it.

By the way, welcome.

The only choice that I really see is what you plan on using for lights if you go to dimming LEDs, analog or PWM.

At least for the near future, I have no intention of dimming lights. That may change in mid 2013, but I won't really know until then.

I had to switch to the Plus when I changed to Ai LED's, other than that the regular was fine.

I pretty much went over the memory pretty quick. The sunrise/sunset code takes up a good chunk. I started with the plus version and glad i did.

I spent the extra cash on the RA+ and am happy I did. I have added custom water change code, custom menu, and custom ATO coding to my RA+ and have already exceeded the 32K sketch limit of the standard unit. I am sure i will have no trouble thinking up more things to add to my RA+ code.
