We installed our new Salinity Probe today and need some guidance on what we are (or are not) seeing. First, I wish the documentation had some pictures. It wasn't clear to me if the salinity probe needed some sort of cover removed prior to sticking it in the water. The small barrel at the end of the has a small hole in it to let in water so we did not attempt to remove what might of been a kind of cover.

Second, I am seeing the same results posted in another similar post, sal=59, and when I attempted to calibrate it remained at zero.

Finally, I uploaded and ran the code included in the examples but was unclear as to what results I should have seen from running the code.

Oh, and I saw reference to calibration fluid in several of the posts, where do we get that?

Yes, you need to remove.
The tip should have 2 pins in the tip which are the sensing parts of the probe.
Make sure that water is not trapped in there. Shake when you place in the water or you will see some form of variance when there is air bubbles in the tip.
You can use your refractometer to make one if you wish. Just make sure the calibration happens at the same temperature as your tank. I just use my sump as calibration fluid I know it is at 35ppt
