I know the std Radion works as several others already use, including myself.
AFAIK, the PRO still uses the same 6 channels, so it should still be the same... The only difference is that they use different LEDs in the PRO version.

Ecotech's site says the Pro is still 6 channels even though it has 8 different color LEDs, but I only have a gen1 right now so I'm not 100% sure.

I only have the gen 1 too.
Works great. You can control all 6 channels individuallly.
