Wifi Attachment

I set my wifi attachment up and it gave me my IP address of 10.1.0.20:2000, loaded the wifitest sketch to my controller. But when I go to connect to it using my browser to test it, the connection times out because it does not find it. The attachment has no light when connected to my controller, and does not show up as being connected according to my router (airport extreme). What can I do to fix this. Many thanks in advance.

I don't think that ip is correct.
Does it have blinking leds when connected to the usb cable, but no when connected to your controller?
If so, can you double check if the cable is connected properly?

I have attached an image of what the wifi util states. Yes you are correct the wifi attachment lights up when attached to the usb cable but not to the controller. I currently have it connected so that at both ends the black cable is on the right.

Ok, with it attached to the usb cable, can you ping the device?

So, looks like the module is connected to your network.
There must be something wrong with the cable that attachs to RA.
Do you have any meter to test?

Would you be able to test each wire to see if they are not broken?

All the wires beeped when I ohmed it out. I am going to borrow another multimeter to make sure the results of my test are valid as I have been having trouble getting accurate readings from my multimeter.

Is it possibly connected wrong to the head unit?

The black wire of the connectors in on the right side for both the headunit and wifi attachment.

Weird.
If the module works when plugged into the usb cable and the link cable is good, it can only be the head unit.
Would you be able to connect this link cable to the head unit and check if the red wire has +5VDC with the black being GND?

The multimeter read .05 volts when I had the multimeter set to read 20 volts.

Looks like you are not getting the 5V to power the wifi.
PM for RMA.
