Wifi module config in linux?

Wifi module config in linux?
Just wondering what program to use to play with it in linux when its plugged in via the serial cable. Please dont tell me minicom
I recall having nightmares trying to talk to modems with that many years ago!

screen can talk to serial port. Not sure anyone still supports kermit but thats an option. I don't recall any pains with minicom though.

Last time I tried to use minicom was with a laptop softmodem in my initial days of trying to use linux. It may be a little less daunting now (though I am actually having to relearn some stuff after being a slack geek for the last few years) Screen I used to use a lot for ssh, but hadn't ever used it for serial connections. Such a great program, will have a crack with it, thanks.
