surface tablet????

So my mom had a surface tablet she wasn't using and seeing as I'm a mac user normally, I thought I'd try it out and maybe get to take advantage of the other items like client suite etc.....but I'm having a hard time getting any of the different programs to work I keep getting errors about not using the app on this pc, I can't even figure out how to get the client suite to download

Am I wasting my time with this thing

What program are you talking about that is giving errors?
To download the Client you can click on "Download Zip" on the right side of the page, but here it is just in case:

Yea I downloaded it and unzipped then I open the file and it says this app can't run on your pc

Let me try to install on a W8 machine.
I have not tried on W8 yet.
Did you try the windows app?? I don't know if that app only works on phones or it would work on computer too.

Well I searched in the windows store and found nothing but I will try that link when I get home tonight

When I pull up that page there is no where that I can activate the download of it

Yeah, I tried in my W8 machine yesterday night and it told me I need a phone to download it, so I guess only works on phones.
I was able to install the Client though. I'm not so sure why you are not able to install the Client.
I wonder is there is something in the surface that prevents it, but I tried on both my laptop and my tablet and it installed just fine.
Did you download the zip file, extracted it and double-clicked the executable file?

Also, Roberto I did a little research on the subject and windows is a pain in the butt, it appears every console is it's own OS, so apps for phone/tablet/laptop/PC don't seem to be interchangeable...I can't believe it's like that but it is

Surface RT (the cheaper one) only runs apps from the Windows App Store. The Surface Pro (the one that's almost $1000) can run any windows software.

Ahh...
That explains why he can't install it.
My tablet is a full blown W8 OS.
It's one of those Acer Iconia 8".
They made this cheap one just to be able to make that commercial on TV about being cheaper than iPad, huh?
They never said the tablet sucks for being so cheap... lol
