Relay Expansion

Post by ishtak »

Hey guys,

All of a sudden my second relay expansion is acting strange. One of the ports has stopped working and 2 of the other ones keep switching on and off every couple of minutes. Any suggestions on what to check?

I checked to make sure the cable is seated properly, which it is.

Is it a standard svga cable? I hav some spare cables from old svga monitotrs laying around. Can I us one of those to check if the cable itself is faulty?

It's a svga cable, but some manufacturers cut corners by removing some wires. If your svga cable has all 15 pins wired through, you should be able to replace it.
If not, you will see some relays turning on together with other ones when wires are shorted to each other or not working at all when the wire is not present.

This is now really strange. I tried a new SVGA cable, same thing. Swopped cables between the working one and the faulty one, same thing. I removed EVERYTHING and reseated everything .. problem seems have gone away! Holding thumbs it is now fixed :)
