Extending PH probe lead

Is it OK to just get a standard coax lead from an electronics store to extend the lead? Due to the separation of my RA and where I want the lead in the sump, its currently dangling in thin air and I need to add about 2' to the lead. Any need to compensate for the extra length?

I bought a BNC to BNC and it worked great. I also hacked the cable on one and used some stranded wire and it worked ok too. Not what I'd recommend but it got me by.

Yep that's what I did. Local electronics shop had what I needed. Works fine. :)
