Sump Water Level

Can I use one of the float switches that come with the RA to tell me the sump water level?
I don't have an ATO setup yet, that's coming down the road. But for now I'd like to use one of the float switches just to tell me how the water level is in my return section of my sump.
Thanks,
Steve

You can only measure if it is at a certain level or not.
For true level from 0% to 100%, you will need the water level expansion module.

That's fine, I top off daily............but it would be nice to have an idea on where it is at the top of the range.
I mounted it today, and plugged it into the RA............but it's not reading. What code do I have in use, or what setting do I have to change.
Thanks

It's mounted for high water level reading, and plugged it into the RA............but it's not reading.
What code do I have in use, or what setting do I have to change?

ReefAngel.HighATO.IsActive(); it might be isActive() though I forget. Then you have to do something with that but you can have portal send an alert. What do you want it to do?

I just want it to tell me the water level in my sump, within the range of the float switch. I know it only has about a 1" travel range, but that 1" is more than my water level varies in a day........so it should give me an idea on how it's doing.

The travel may be 1", but the sensing switch is not 1" travel.
It is going to be less than a 1/4".
Float switches are only good to detect water above or below a very specific level. It cannot measure travel distance. For true water level distance, you will need the water level expansion.
If your intention is knowing above/below a line, then the float should work for you.
