Old Reef Angel Troubleshooting

I sent a support email, but here goes on the forum as well:
I have an original Reef angel Controller, it is several years old and as I recall it is one of the first gen units. I haven't coded anything for it in forever and it has been chugging along for many years. It has frozen about once a month requiring restart to get it back going again. Yesterday it froze and I restarted it as usual. Green Light comes on, Red light flashes a few times, but LCD never displays anything.
So far I have tried:
-Multiple Resets, same results
-Leaving it unplugged for a while, same results
-Hooking it up to PC, no response
I'm guessing the main unit is shot (may it rest in peace), Any tips on verifying? I can plug all of my pumps into outlets, but I don't have LED light without the controller. I have Meanwell 60-48p drivers (x4), anybody have any tips on how i can send a signal to them until I can get a fix in place?
Thanks in advance
edit:Well, a 9v battery works as a PWM signal apparently, any problem in doing this for 8 hours a day until I get this fixed?
