Hi all, in the plans to make a backup power supply as per this how to.
http://atj.net.au/marineaquaria/backup_power.html
Am looking to have my RA+ with one relay box running off of it, plus power heads and return and a modem and maybe one other small consumer, like the USB extension. Got an idea how many watts I need for the pumps, but no idea how much for the RA. I can't imagine its much, except maybe the relay box uses more power than I expect. Tossing up between a 300 and 600w inverter. Was going to just get a 600w, but if I'm not over 300 I don't see the point as it will be less efficient. Anyone got one of those watts measuring thingies and knows exactly how much the RA uses?
Cheers
Sabo

Re: RA power consumption.
The head unit and relay box alone doesn't consume much. I don't think you can even detect how much on those wattmeters. It's neglegible.
It's what you connect to the relay box is what you need to worry about.

That's what I was thinking. Thanks, think I'll go with a 300w inverter.
