Sorry for the likely dumb question. I am trying to setup my new wifi attachment. When I open the wifi utility and try to select a serial port and I get an error message "ERROR: connecting to /dev/tty.usbserial-A702865R Additional installation required to use serial, read the console below" Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Try to use the wifi utility that was included in the older installation package:
http://download.reefangel.com/download/ ... _1.0.9.dmg

This suggestion worked for me on OSX 10.9.5
