Reef Octo Pulse wavemakers - how to connect to Reef Angel?

Hi All,
On the coral vue site it said it can be controlled with the RA, but not sure what cable to connect to the controller.
I'm assuming it is a mono channel 3.5mm cable? I have two jebao cables that I couldn't sell off, I'm wondering if I can keep the connectors and splice them into a mono cable to control these. Would this work?
