Re: Did someone say iPhone app?
You don't have to do that. I was more curious if there was actually anything in the App that required 4.3 in order to work or if this was just Apple's way of making an older/working product instantly obsolete. I just discovered I have many other apps that have now been "updated" and requir...

Re: Did someone say iPhone app?
Is there a reason this requires IOS 4.3? Is there something in 4.3 that makes this work? Reason I ask is I have an iPod Touch 2nd Gen, works fantastic, but I just learned Apple doesn't support it any longer and the last IOS I got on it was 4.2.1. I can't go any higher. This is the first App I have t...

Re: Updating Code / Testing on live reef
Yes, I want to have a bunch of different weather settings for PWM signals on my LEDs with different effects. I want to write an program that polls the weather from anywhere in the world (Great Barrier Reef, Fiji, PNG, but it doesn't matter where you pick), just put in the location you want to poll w...

Re: Updating Code / Testing on live reef
Good suggestion on monoprice, they have a 32' for $8.93, 49' for $15.39, 65ft for $20.23, and 82' for $30.43 rimai, that seems like one of the most important reasons to have Wifi to me, to be able to update code, change settings, and get status updates. Actually, I was kind of relying on it to be ab...

Re: Dosing Pumps
I think they were comparing it to something like the Bubble Magus doser which has the controller built into it so it is stand alone.. the only way this doser would work is with some type of timer to plug it into (be it a reef angel or any other controller or just a couple simple digital timers).

Re: Updating Code / Testing on live reef
Really long USB extension cable (I got a 32' from newegg for $17 ) or Wifi (I think, haven't played with Wifi beyond just setting it up so not sure if you can update code over Wifi, someone else that knows that answer can hopefully chime in). Since my controller is sitting next to me still, 7 months...

Re: Dosing Pumps
Posted Today: http://reefbuilders.com/2011/06/20/reef-angel-dosing-pump/ It’s been a while since we last covered the Reef Angel controller, but the creators of this neat open source controller haven’t been sitting still. Along with a lot of improvement software wise, Reef Angel has just announced th...

Re: LED Lightning Storm Simuation
They use RO/DI / ATO water for the rain because saltwater would clog up the rain system after just one use. I thought about using saltwater myself as a rain effect but after testing it one time on a small scale and finding out the salt clogs the drippers after just one cycle I gave up. My tank isn't...

Re: Dosing Pumps
Question, are each doser on their own plug? Seems like it would be a huge issue if both dosers came on at the same time due to using 1 plug. I am assuming this was thought of though and there are 2 plugs, but just had to ask to verify.

Re: LED Lightning Storm Simuation
Not a fan of the "lightning effect" I have seen others use, but the storm feature is cool. I also have the PWM module but have yet to use it. After storms.. then you can think about incorporating "rain" as your ATO like this tank. ;) http://www.advancedaquarist.com/blog/ridiculou...

Re: Dosing Pumps
Your killing me with all these add-ons... or better put, killing the wallet. ;) Seems like a sweet deal considering the cheapest single dosing pump on bulkreefsupply is $90, so 2 pumps for $100 is a no brainer as long as they are good quality and easy to replace wearable parts. I still haven't even ...

Re: Web Banners
Silly question that I didn't want to start a whole thread for, how do we get our own ID? I am thinking it isn't as simple as creating an account on the forums, is it? Somehow I missed the instructions that explain that part.

Re: Updated Main Screen
Is this something we can do ourselves, customizing the screen? Or is it pretty difficult? Myself, I would like the top row for pH/Temp1, then 2 power blocks (1 expansion, like in the second example picture above), a PWM reading for 8 PWM channels (just percentage #s), and at the bottom a small graph...

Re: Relay box...
Something sounds odd.. the relays stick open, not closed, when they go bad. Have you tried unplugging the controller and plugging it back in? I would guess that was your first idea so forgive me if it seems like a silly question.

Re: Initial setup help please...
I have a 75G tank, 30"x24"x24". I got the ports working. I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was going through all the tabs on the RAGen program and hitting generate on the internal mem tab the entire time. I didn't realize you had to generate 2 different files. Once I did the int...

Re: Initial setup help please...
Thanks, that helped clear up a little fog in my head.. I have followed step 1 and setup the internal memory correctly now. One small step in the right direction. I now understand why the USB expansion is needed. So I will order one of those soon. I know the PWM box needs a power source as well, whic...

Initial setup help please...
So I bought all this stuff last November.. been working on too many other projects up until now. Finally got the bigger projects out of the way so I am now onto setting up my controller. After a couple days of trying, I admit, I need help. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3393/5743104503_53bc5d6304_z....
