I had the same problem. I reset the wifi module to factory defaults, loaded the latest 4.0 firmware, reloaded the code on the controller, and added the external antenna which I really think helped the most.

Nope no soldering to the board. It's just a plug. I believe I did have change the software setting in the wifi module to use external antenna.

Sacohen Here ya go.. Testing has begun with the first release candidate. I just installed it on my phone and nexus 7. It appears to be working properly. I'm going to run it for a few days and see if anything crops up. If anybody wants to test it out, they are welcome to. It's in its usual spot on my...

What kind of router do you have? I would look into using a dynamic dns service like no-ip.com or whichever works with your router.

Re: Wifi setup fail
Have you checked port 2000 on this site? http://www.canyouseeme.org/
Also you can use a dynamic dns service like http://www.noip.com/ or whatever your router supports so
that you don't have to keep switching your ip address in the app.

Looks like you could take a stereo connector and cut the opposite ends off and connect to the Reef Angel..
Heres a link they sell for the Apex

I love my ASUS RT-N66U.. I have the Reef Angel Connected to it and also a Neptune Apex and many many more devices..
After you get it working out of the box you may want to switch it over to Merlins firmware

You need to have the head unit plugged into the relay box, and the relay box plugged into the wall.
