Re: Gyre control
In the coralvue video, it looks like it's connecting with a 0-10v port to the apex similar to what we connect our pH probes to the reef angel. Do we need an expansion in order to control this or does anyone know if this can be connected to our dimming expansion by cutting off the plug and stripping ...

Just make sure you switch the dimming module to PWM or Analog based on the controllers you buy from buildmyled

Re: webcam? maxspec gyre connection?
I received confirmation from VIP of sales for CoralVue that the RA is confirmed compatible. They are still testing their controller module and it should hopefully be released within 6-8 weeks. From what it sounds like the controller module will replace the standard controller that comes with the gyr...

XF150 Gyre connected to ReefAngel
Has anyone attempted to connect the Gyre to the reef angel yet? At first it seemed it may be impossible as I couldnt find the type of plug they use anywhere. It is smaller than the Jebao. They released an extension cable about 2 weeks ago which means we have something we can splice into without ruin...

Interesting....
Good news, looking into this I realized my router supports DDNS which I have setup and is working...
Bad news, apparently using DDNS should avoid NAT Loopback issues however it has not fixed my issue.

Re: Comcast to Verizon Fios what a mess
Is your router only 5ghz? I bought the Asus RT-AC68U router. Originally I only ocnfigured 5ghz wifi and I was experiencing the same exact issue. couldn't figure out how to get it to work. I configured a second wifi using 2.4ghz and my RA connected with no issue. I am guessing the RA wifi module does...

Mount pH probe in-line PVC
Anyone know what kind of fitting would allow me to mount my pH probes in-line in my PVC overflow or return line? Would there be too much pressure in a return line to safely install a probe in it? On my new tank I am going to do the bean animal overflow so I could mount this in my full siphon line. h...

Re: LDD Drivers, why and how?
6" is extremely close to the water for LED's. With 80º optics you should be in the 8"-12" range. Also 60º optics are recommended for 24" or deeper. Coral burning at the surface is probably due to the LEDs being so close to the water and maybe not enough acclimation? See how it go...

Unfortunately LED's have a 120º spread without lenses and will provide awful Par ratings without optics..cosmith71 wrote:I took my lenses off as well. I'm digging the look.

Re: LDD Drivers, why and how?
You should try the 4:2:1:1 spectrum. RB:NW:CB:UV.. Add maybe 1-2 Green/Red for every 2 square feet and then on a separate channel add some Lime LED's to control the spectrum look of your tank....
One of the nicest LED spectrums I have seen in person. He had great coral growth and color as well

I am going to switch back to T5 lights. I have RapidLED's Standard Solderless 90g Tank Dimmable Kit with PWM drivers and a RA Dimming Expansion for Sale. 48 LED's (2 20"x6" heatsinks each tapped for 36 LED's each so that's 72 total). All LED's are Cree 3w - 20 RB - 14 CW - 4 NW - 6 UV - 2 ...

I've got Start, Bak, Food, SP, CS, CV, AAHC, Xtra.
I'm actually holding off on starting it. I'm having a custom 60x24x22 tank with a 42" external overflow built. So I will start ZEOvit fresh on that one =)
