Re: Client Suite 3.0
Thanks, Sebyte. I think I see the issue. The Listener service validates that the internal memory locations from the controller match up with a defined set that the Client expects to see. This makes sure that we're displaying the correct values in the correct places on the Memory tab and also updatin...

Re: Client Suite 3.0
I have installed the suite and it works well except for when I try to access the memory settings. Then I get the error message "Unable to retrieve controller memory settings. Refer to log for more details." So the error looks like the controller is returning fewer memory location/value pa...

Re: Notifications
Every 15 seconds ;) You do need a gmail account/password to proxy the notification through with the Client, though. I dont think any one method is better than the other so long as you receive the notification. You could even setup both for redundancy. If you don't have a WiFi adapter then the Client...

Client Suite 3.0
Well this release was a very long time coming - sorry for the delay guys. I hope to be on this board more often and keep supporting the application as best I can once things settle down a little bit around here. I recently got caught up with work/life events and in the process of buying a new house!...

Re: Client Suite 2.2
Yeah, Windows 8 is an issue.. It's been part of the hold up for the next released version. I'm also having issues with getting the services to work on that platform. I know what the problem is - just don't have an acceptable easy to deploy solution for it yet. The account that the services run under...

Re: New Windows Gadget
The host process for the gadgets is called "sidebar.exe". You should be able to just kill the process in task manager. When you add a new gadget to the desktop it will automatically restart the sidebar.exe host process for you. Quicker than restarting ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

PS: If you want me to I can probably fix this if the source code is available somewhere. Is the source for this available? Re: RAGen v1.2.2 - MUST READ for all RAGen Users
I liked the old format too, but the problem was that there is an increasing number of memory locations and it would become too big for one window. Maybe a tab system just like the RAGen tabs? One for standard settings like lights, heater and ato and then one for the additional settings, and then on...

Re: RAGen v1.2.2 - MUST READ for all RAGen Users
Nice job on the new RAGen and write up. Your explanations were very thorough. I have to say though, I'm not a fan of the new Internal Memory form at all. The old way in my opinion had it right. Now it seems very cumbersome to modify the memory values, especially if you're changing more than 1. A lot...

I've seen this happening before. It happened to me and I forgot to comment. I had something to do with one of the values being out of range, if I'm not mistaken. Re: Serial port 'COM5' already in use.
The client itself doesn't lock the port, rather it's the ReefAngel Listener service that you mentioned, StuGotz that locks the port. There's a built in timer to the service that when it ticks, the service will attempt to open the COM port and communicate indefinitely. So long as that service is runn...

Re: Client Suite
Yeah, this seems to be a popular request. I was always hesitant to add it because I thought it wouldn't be entirely accurate and it was possible to miss entire On/Off events within the 15 second window that it takes to query the controller. Also we don't know exactly when a relay toggled. Just that ...

That's good to hear. So are there any changes needed in the libraries/sketch to get it to work or can we breeze right through the SingleATO setup in RAGen and have it work as expected?

New Avast Marine ATO supports RA
Just ran across Avast Marine's new pressure sensitive ATO setup which comes in two models. A standard option that comes with its own relay box to trigger a top off pump, or a digital version which comes with a few different cable options for plugging into a variety of controllers. Sure enough, the R...
