Expansion hub

Ever since I add an additional power outlet and conversely an expansion hub, my unit has been acting up. The hub will make a click and sometimes flash a bright red light. I have a dimming module, a water level expansion and the power outlet plugged into it. Is there a way to log what is happening? I don't get a bus lock on the head unit.
Another odd thing is that my halide will just turn off, sometimes comes back on, but if I use the app I can force it back on by switching the outlet to on instead of auto.
Just yesterday when I put the head into water change, it ignored me, I couldn't switch off the outlet for the return pump.
Head unit is probably 10 years old, as is the one power bar.
Any ideas?
