Adapting K type Thermocouple

Post by tkeracer619 »

I want to monitor a hot water heating loop that will be heating my system. I haven't found any DS18B20 based probes that are thread in/pressure compatible. The heating loop will be pressurized to 15psi.

This is the Thermocouple I was planning on using.

Will this Thermocouple Amplifier with 1 Wire board be compatible? It seems it uses a modified ONEWIRE library. Will using this modified library mess up the other probes? This new version eliminates the large lookup table that was previously used by the checksum calculation - otherwise it's identical to Josh's version.

If anyone has any other solution I am all ears!

Thanks!

EDIT: I found G1/2 threaded DB18B20 sensors and a G1/2 to NPT adapter... Probably an easier solution... I just have to wait for them to arrive from china...

I think it would work as long as you modify the RA_TempSensor library to include your thermocouple IC.

Thanks for the reply!

I found G1/2 threaded DB18B20 sensors and a G1/2 to NPT adapter while you were typing... just have to wait for them to come from china. Still I think the Omega solution is probably the better sensor, I have used them in some intense applications. They hold up well.
