so my reef angel will not communicate with my pc

i am running windows 7. i dont have any of the extras hooked up, however i have to hook up later the rf module, the wifi module, salinity module, ph probe, two ato switches, two temp sensors, and i think that is it.. i have radions and mp40s.. all this beside the point at the moment..

i downloaded the software try to install, i get to the part where it says make sure your device is unplugged from your pc.. i click next, then it says plug it in and wait for windows to install driver... nothing happens... maybe its because my wife is admin.. i will check this.. and try again..

so i plug in and i get an error tone, like its not recognized maybe.. also it is not clear how to plug the ttl cable into the reef angel, i look further in the intstructions and saw a picture of it plugged in with the green wire to the left, and the black wire to the right, with the connector pushed all the way to the right.. this is the cable that has the 6 pin connector on one end and the usb on the other...

all i have hooked up is the reef angel head unit, the video cable to the relay box, the realy box to the wall and the usb cable with the 6 pin connector hooked into the head unit but the usb is currently unplugged...

i have tried to give every bit of info.. i am technically savy, however when it comes to this kind of thing i am not great.. i have a feeling the wifi and the rf part are gonna drive to suicide... i work on cars, i deal with electronics all the time.. i do not build them or adjust code anytime in anyway.. at most i update a control module in a predetermined way.. i trouble shoot modules with predetermined trouble trees.. sometimes i have to be able to do this with out trouble trees.. i know how sensors work, i know a good bit about how micro controllers work.. this is just a back ground... anyway if someone can help me get the drivers loaded so i can link my reef angel to my computer so i can try the RAGen i would be so happy.. once i get there and if i have problems, altho it seems straight forward i will ask more then..

so far i have loaded all the software, but then when it didnt work i uninstalled and tried again.. then when it would not load the driver when i plugged in the usb i stopped.. the little pop up is up and waiting for someone to tell me what to do.. thanks...

Try downloading the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website:

got it, thanks.. just starting the RAgen program.. already not liking it.. i kinda want some different functions.. i got to play with it tho..

Did you try the Reef Angel Wizard?
Open Arduino and go to menu Tools-> Reef Angel Wizard

Yes, you should look at the new Reef Angel Wizard. I found it to fit my needs better than the RAgen program. RAgen was great, but the wizard let me do things I wanted to do.

Great. The wizard has really made things more simple than RAGen. And yes, I wrote RAGen and am admitting this.

The RAGen served us very well for a long time. I'd still be trying to make things work if it hadn't been for your great work.
