wifi disconnecting randomly

I have a wifi adapter that just disconnects randomly until you power cycle the unit. So I thought I would update the firmware using the wifi utility, but I get an error during the upgrade. Is there a way to manually flash the firmware? If so where is the download for it.

Yes, using tera term or putty.
