bad dimming module?
bad dimming module?
I need some help verifying if my dimming module is bad or if there is another problem.
I found my kessil lights not on when i came home from work. I unplugged the power supply from the dimming module and powered it back up after 30 seconds. It was working correctly at that time. After about 6 day I got up in the middle of the night to get a glass of water and found the kessil light where on. A quick reboot and they seem to be working correctly.
Any ideas?
Thank

Re: bad dimming module?
Not that I have noticed.
I would check that by watching the led on the module?
Right now the led is on solid green. the led is off on the expansion hub as well.
Thanks

Lights did not come on today.
dimming module had green light on, and expansion module had no lights.
removed power and rebooted and it started working again.
Any ideas?

Re: bad dimming module?
The green led is just power.
Bus lock would show in the head unit status page.

Re: bad dimming module?
I have not had any hard failures to see if there is a buss lock.
It does keep keep radumling turn the light on at night for about 3 to 5 seconds then they go back off.
I have not had any luck being able to see if it show a bus lock in that time.
Thanks

Re: bad dimming module?
I have also been troubleshooting my dimming module.
Can you test the terminals where the lighting wires connect to the module with a multimeter?

Re: bad dimming module?
Got the module to fail today. There was not buss fault show on the display. Pulled the power plug for about 10 seconds plugged back in and it was back to normal working again. Any way to tell is a buss fault triggered this and it did just not reset, or is it just a bad module?

I have tested my terminals when i start seeing the problem. I seen 0 volts at that time. How ever after I reset the power plug it started to act normal and was seeing the voltage asked for out to the kessil lights.

Re: bad dimming module?
Just a update to maybe help some one else.
We seem to have found the problem. One of my Kessil A360WE was flaking out and finally died. I am looking into other options and brands, maybe even go with the Rapid LED route.

Re: bad dimming module?
i am having the same issue with my dimming module i have steves led drivers..... randomly lights will turn off if i check the display shows no problems and all light percentages at proper level. some times i loose all lights sometimes just one color quits sometimes all go to a low level. every time it has happened i unplug the power to the dimming module plug back in and lights go to proper level. how did you determine what was making it flake out?
