How many additional temp probes can be added> Would I need a pwm module or the expansion hub?
The buzzer is added via the pwm module for audible alarms?
Will the preloaded software handle the additional modules and hub out of the box or does it require changing the code?

How many temp probes are you wanting? The controller supports 3 temp probes.
I cannot give you a definite response about what the preloaded software handles, however, when you add on expansion modules (PWM, IO hub, additional relays, etc), you must reload software onto your controller. The way the software works is it is customized based on your needs. Code is added / deleted based on your user configuration. The stuff you don't need is removed and what you need is added. This allows you to have your controller do exactly what you want and not simply be a "one size fits all". The stuff that is removed can always be added back in by changing the configuration around. All the code resides in the libraries and like I said, is customized when it's compiled and loaded on the controller.
