New RA owner with questions

So I bought the PMW version with the intent of a DYI LED setup... I am now thinking of going with an AI Sol or a couple of nanos. Can I still do this even with the PMW version? And if I go with a couple of nanos and link them, will they all control as one unit from the RA?

The AI cable uses one of the ATO ports so yes you can still use your RA with the AI's. I currently control two Ai nano's with mine. I am planning on independent controls so I can have more of a sunrise / sun set, but they are currently controlled together ramping up / down in unison.

Out of curiosity, why does RA interface with the AI via an ATO port? Is there something non-standard about AI lights?

Yes, they use digital signals with serial communication.
