heres an interesting one... I have 2 temp probes, no matter what port I plug them into they always show up at the same port. for instance, if I just plug one in to the port closest to the ph probe it shows as T1, unplug it, plug it into the middle port, cycle the power, it shows as T1. do the same for the port farthest from the PH plug, T1. this happens with both plugged in as well. the same probe always shows up at T1 no matter what combination of ports i plug them into.
am i missing something here and they are somehow pre setup to show up as a certain one?

Correct.
The chip used has a laser incribed address that is unique for each sensor.
You will never have a sensor like yours
So the controller scans for addresses and assigns it in the numerical order that they were manufactured.
So, no matter which port you use, you will get the same result.
