ph probe is no longer accurate

What are the maintenance requirements for the ph probe? My probe is about 5-6 months old and is no longer reading properly. I was wondering if it needs to be cleaned or re-calibrated every 6 months? I wanted to ask before I screwed something up.
thanks in advance

You can rinse it in vinigar and then recalibrate using the standard solutions.
When you say it is inaccurate has it gone very high or very low? There have been many threads regarding the probe giving wild readings, which can be caused by stray voltage. The ATO float switches have to an extent been the cause in most case. It may be an idea to check the connections for salt creep.

Thanks Sebyte, I recalibrated as you suggested and it seemed to work. I did read the other threads and did trouble shoot the floats but had no real impact...seems the recal worked well enough.
Thanks again
