salinity probe results swings

I recently hooked up my salinity probe, calibrated it, and have been watching it. It is currently in a fairly high flow area, which I will probably move, but am seeing some fairly wide swings in its calculations.

I currently have the portal configured to notify if salinity drops below 32.5 or goes above 35.5 and it is driving me crazy.

What should the swings in salinity be to be considered normal? Is it because of the high-flow? BTW, I did calibrate prior to installing. Please advise and Thx.

Ross

Just to be sure, you did remove the plastic cap from the tip, right?
Does it have any air bubble in the tip?
Shake to be sure there is no bubble. Looking at your graph, the swing is abnormal.

I'll check it tonite. Also what about the high flow? Should I move it to a calmer area in the sump?

Mine fluctuated a bit while in a high flow area of my sump until I moved it. Much more stable now.
