How functional are Koralia Powerheads on RA?

Post by kirkwood »

How much can I do with my Koralia powerheads? Is it only on/off? Or can I adjust the power intensity of the units? Say ramp up the power intensity from 30% to 100% at 10% increments every second and then back down from 100% to 30%?

Is this related to dimmable functionality? If so is it the analog dimming RA unit?

Only on/off.
Standard Koralias are non controllable and if you have the controllable version, you must use their own controller.

If you want controllability, I recommend you looking into Jebao and Tunzes.

I have used the Koralia Evo's (not controllable) on my reefangel with the on/off cycle. The pump worked fine and handled all the on/off cycles without any problem, but the cheap front grill keeps breaking...there is a little bumper on the front that makes sure the propeller always spins the correct way, but it is cheap, cheap, cheap and breaks as soon as two weeks after I replace it. If you are using these Evo's, I say keep them on all the time, or save up for Tunze and Jebaos...

Wow, that's like the biggest complaint I've seen about the Jaebos is that they have no US based distributors... Now if you can do some warranty, I'm sure people will be flocking to RA just to get those pumps :)\

Btw, the Jaebo attachment, while in the store is not listed in the Products page :(

Sorry, I don't intend to sell them as stand alone.
I got a few dozens of RA versions (no built-in controllers), that will be sold with the Jebao cable as a package.
I just received the shipment today.

Roberto, them pumps can be had for a lot less. Then the modifications to work with ra then buying the cable from you still comes up cheaper.

almost 50 more why the high price? I got excited when I saw this. Currently looking to buy 2 in a group buy.

You are more than welcome to buy from a group buy.
I'll never be able to match group buy prices.
