Hey Guys,
I put together a small guide to reserving an IP address for ReefAngel use. This guide will work nicely with my other guide (found here :
http://forum.reefangel.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1190 )
Enjoy

I was wondering if you could help me with this.
So far I have my wifi set up. I can see it on my web page xxxxxxxxxx:2000 and in my windows gadget.
I have had some trouble setting up port forwarding.
I have a noip account and when i enter my domain name in my router setting it rejects my details saying either the host name does not exist or the password and username are incorrect.
When i look my port up on canyouseeme (i leave my ip as is and change the port to 2000) i get the message "success, I can see your service".
I am stuck with what to do next.
My modem is a netgear cable gateway CG3100 D2
menu set up is this (looks very similar to the menu in the guide).
Setup
-Basic settings
-Wireless settings
-Wi-Fi miltimedia
-Guest Network
Content filtering
-logs
-block sites
-Services
Maintenence
-gateway status
-connection
-set password
-Backup
-event log
-diagnostics
Advanced
-MAC filtering
-Dynamic DNS
-port blocking
-port forwarding
-pord triggering
-DMZ host
-LAN ip
-Remote management
-UPnP
-static routes
-ALG
-NAT mode
-WAN backup

I don't have much experience with noip, but can try -
Where are you putting in the username and password? They should be entered in the Dynamic DNS section of your modem.
It might be a good idea to make sure (google) that your modem will work with a noip host.
I use dyndns - it's $20 a year and you could theoretically split the cost with someone as you get up to 30 hosts per account

I'm not sure how, but it is working. I guess I didn't need to set up port forwarding.
I used my home ip followed by :2000 and the webpage, windows gadget and reef angel client all work.
If i can see this from work, i will be able to see it from anywhere in the world?

Yes that is correct. The reason to use a dynamic DNS service is if your ISP uses dynamic ip addresses (as opposed to static), then your home IP address will constantly change.
