Problem with display and more

I couldn't figure out a good title for my issue, but when i got home i went downstairs and was just doing my regular check on things, i normally haven't been looking at the display on the head unit but i decided to. It was kind of half there, a few things were missing, the colors were off and nothing was responsive (ph, temp etc) I thought maybe it was just the display so i opened up the portal and dipped the ph probe into 10 solution and it wasn't updating to the portal, same for temp but everything appeared to be working as usual and had i not checked the display i don't know what wouldve happened.
i don't know that it was dosing properly, i have another thermometer with alarms and that didn't go off so temp was still in line. I guess i shouldve taken a picture of it first but all i did was disconnect the relay box cable to power it down, and once i plugged it back in, all was back to normal.....is this something i should be concerned about, or just a fluke deal...had i been away form home for a few days it couldve been a big issue
