CODE WITH TEMP PROBE PROBLEMS

Posted: Thu Jan 23, 2025 10:07 pm
by CASPAR
THINK I MAY HAVE CREATED THE PERFECT CODE FOR ME, BUT PROBLEM WITH IT IS MY SUMP TEMP ON DISPLAY KEEPS FLUCTUATING FROM SAY 78.5 TO 0.00 ABOUT EVERY MINUTE OR SO??? THEN MY ROOM TEMP PROBE TEMP DISPLAY HAS A GREEN BACKROUND TO IT, AND NOT SUPPOSED TO. THE SUMP FLUCTUATIONS ACCUR REGARDLESS OF WHAT PROBE IS CONNECTED BETWEEN THE 3, HAVE SWITCHED THE PROBES AROUND AND IT STILL DOES IT. ANY HELP APPRECIATED....BELOW IS THE CODE

Re: CODE WITH TEMP PROBE PROBLEMS

So it sounds like you have a bad temp probe. The temp ports are not oriented based on their position in the controller. Each temp probe has an id burnt into the chip which is how its orientation is set. So the lowest ID probe is always T1 then next lowest ID T2 then next lowest is T3 regardless of their position. As for why you have the green background is because you have

92 for the background color value instead of 255 which is white after the COLOR_BLACK

Your code is

Code: Select all
ReefAngel.LCD.DrawText(COLOR_RED,255,92,63,"ROOM");
ConvertNumToString(text, ReefAngel.Params.Temp[T3_PROBE], 10);
ReefAngel.LCD.DrawLargeText(COLOR_BLACK, 255, 92, 72, text, Num8x16);
Correct code should be this below

Code: Select all

ReefAngel.LCD.DrawText(COLOR_RED,255,92,63,"ROOM");
ConvertNumToString(text, ReefAngel.Params.Temp[T3_PROBE], 10);
ReefAngel.LCD.DrawLargeText(COLOR_BLACK, 255, 89, 72, text, Num8x16);

You can also replace the 255 with a Defined color like this below

Code: Select all

ReefAngel.LCD.DrawLargeText(COLOR_BLACK, COLOR_WHITE, 89, 72, text, Num8x16);
So it goes (Text_Color, Background_Color, X_Position, Y_Poxition, text, font)

THAT FIXED THE GREEN BACK GROUND, BUT I DONT THINK I HAVE A BAD PROBE. I CAN LOAD ANOTHER CODE THAT USES ALL 3 PROBES AND IT DOESNT HAPPEN, ITS JUST THIS PARTICULAR CODE THAT IT DOES IT WITH.
