Re: Controller freezing and trouble compiling sketch
Yes, 1 expansion module, PWM dimming module, RF module for vortech and the Wi-Fi expansion. All the modules, etc. are mounted inside a separate cabinet so they're well protected. I had left the Wi-Fi expansion plugged in after the last test and that's when the controller froze. It's working fine aga...

Re: Controller freezing and trouble compiling sketch
Well that didn't take long, the controller is frozen again. I have a dead screen, solid red and solid green light and no response from the joystick again. Is it the board?

Re: Controller freezing and trouble compiling sketch
Many thanks, we have progress. Re-installing the Reef Angel software on my computer got my sketch compiling correctly again. I can't get the Wi-Fi unit to authenticate though. Nothing has changed on my network, tried using the Wi-Fi utility software to configure it again but no success. It's associa...

Controller freezing and trouble compiling sketch
About 2 days ago my controller unit froze up, screen blank, red status light blinking and no response to input from the joystick. It resets properly when power cycled and returns to normal function. It's happened a couple more times in the past few days. I have the RA Plus unit and it's been running...

Re: Dosing Pumps
I'm dosing kalk, the pumps are being used to topoff RO/DI in a non-pressurized Precision Marine kalk reactor. A peristaltic dosing pump is the correct pump to use for this application which is why I bought this one.

Re: Dosing Pumps
I'm having trouble with both of the dosing pumps leaking water. First it was pump 1 last week which was pumping all the water on the floor and now pump 2 seems to have a slower leak and is also pumping water on the floor of my cabinet. Nothing but RO/DI water going through these pumps. They're progr...

Appears to be working okay now, it just went into the surge phase. Awesome support again, thanks for all the help.

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
Checked the version and it's on v1.0.1. I unchecked the Pre v.10 locations box which changed the memory location from 855 to 255 for the RF Mode, it still reads the value as 5.

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
I checked the internal memory using the andoid app to read the value at location 855 and it says 5. The Vortech page on the android app also says Nutrient.

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
Okay, many thanks again for testing that. I just rebooted the controller and moved the RF units around a bit again. They are all within 6 inches of each other with no obstructions. I'll check back in 45 minutes.

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
Okay, I've been watching the vortech pumps for awhile now and haven't seen them go through the surge phase of the nutrient transport mode. Everything works as it did before using the longer version of code I posted but yours was shorter so thats a good thing. The surge I'm referring to is the big sw...

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
Many thanks again for the quick responses :D Code is uploaded and I'll watch it for awhile to see how the nutrient transport mode behaves. It went into feeding mode okay and stayed there. I was about to ask where I change the speed and duration values but found that's using internal memory which I c...

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
I'd like to be in Nutrient Transport during the day from 1000 to 2300 and night mode from 2300 to 1000. Feeding mode when I send the command from the android app, that's pretty much it. I thought it was doing all that but I'm noticing the Nutrient Transport isn't doing the same 2 phase cycle that it...

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
Okay, pH control is done and I'm back to the RF module again. It's doing almost everything I want, in and out of night mode and feeding modes but the Nutrient Transport mode isn't working as expected. The Nutrient Tranpsort mode has two phases with a wave motion phase and surge phase. It's doing the...

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
Well right now I have the reactor connected to the ATO but it will overshoot the pH during the day if I leave it on. I guess having it dose whenever the pH drops below 8.3 would be a good place to start. That should have it drip over the evening when the pH drops normally.

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
Looking for some help setting up a kalk reactor. I've never used one before and concerned about overshooting the pH. How would I insert a case statement to turn a port off based on the pH? The idea was to turn the ATO pump off if the pH is over 8.3. Any other suggestions for setting the kalk reactor...

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
I went back and tried it again working with the assumption that just the green LED wasn't working. The pumps kept flashing the red/blue code signifying it wasn't communicating successfully and all 3 units are sitting on a table an inch from each other. I tried it again holding the RF module a few in...

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
Oops! I was copying the same code into the editor ;) Let's back up to the first of the two set's of code from your previous post because I didn't test the first one correctly. The first bit of code the RF unit did not light up. Seeing how this was the constant mode it seems we're on to something. I ...

Okay, lights were still blink blue when I uploaded and it continued to blink blue.
Disconnected the USB and reconnected and it turned solid purple.
Uploaded the code again and it remained solid purple.

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
I've tried it on both pumps a couple times, they won't go into slave mode. I can set either pump into master and the other to slave as they were before but they won't go into slave mode if there isn't a master set already.

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
Okay, jumpers not needed apparently. There were already jumpers on the SCA and SCL pins.
What can I try next? The RF module needs to be blinking green and blue signifying it's the master before I can assign the pumps as slaves right?

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
Hi Roberto, I'm trying to setup the RF module now but having some trouble. When I upload the VortechSetup code the RF module isn't blinking blue and green, it's blinking blue only. Was there a jumper I was supposed to add on the board? None shipped but I might have an old hard-drive laying around if...

Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
Thanks much, it's the syntax for the functions and how to define ports on the second module that I was struggling with. Some sample code helped and then the pieces started falling together. Here's what I have so far, I think it does everything I listed above with the exception of setting the ports o...

Many thanks for the help with the lights Roberto. The new aquarium is all setup now and will be ready to cycle soon. Now it's time to program everything. Re: Just getting started, need help with lights first
Many thanks, I didn't see any extra jumpers packaged so we'll assume they're installed for now. Here's my code now, I used the PWM expansion menu and see each channel set at 100 on the head unit. #include <Salinity.h> #include <ReefAngel_Features.h> #include <Globals.h> #include <RA_Wifi.h> #include...

Just getting started, need help with lights first
I'm just beginning and would like some help to start with the lights. I've got a pretty ambitious list but to get started the first thing I need to do is set all PWM channels to 100% so I can adjust the current on the Meanwell LED drivers. There will be 4 channels to start with a Meanwell P series d...
