Drivers and dimmers

Post by RobRummel »

I bought this led kit with two dimable drivers from rapid led.
Solderless Biocube 14 Retrofit Kit with two Dimmable drivers

Kit comes with a pre-drilled heatsink that screws directly into the existing BC14 hood, and no soldering necessary!  With two drivers you can control your white and blue color separately (you'll still need some external hardware to control dimming).

This retrofit kit will fit seamlessly into your existing Biocube 14 hood (once gutted), and attaches via 4 screws.  With our plug and play system you will not need to solder.  Please note you will need a reef controller or potentiometer + 10V AC Adapter to run the dimmable driver.

I also bought the reef angel 0-10v Pwm kit

Do I hook the drivers to ports 11 and 12? I ask because the manual calls them dimming ports in one section and drivers in another. Do I hook the driver that came with the led kit to ports 11 and 12 and then plug the 110 v into the 3 and 4 plugs on the main box? Or do I hook port 11and 12 straight to my led circuit and not use the drivers that came with the kit?

Page 7 calls them dimming ports

Just want to make sure so I don't fry anything.

Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy.
I'll revise the manual. It should read:
11. Dimming port - Daylight channel
12. Dimming port - Actinic channel

You connect the dimming wires from the drivers to the RA dimming port.
And just to confirm. You have the P version of drivers, correct?
Roberto.
