Wifi problem

Post by creed »

I had a power outage and my wifi stopped working. Slow green light flashing on module. I tried using the wifi setup tool again it goes through the whole thing but stay on the auto port forwarding when originally automatically configured the port forwarding. How can I get this thing working again?

If the light is flashing slow green the Wifi module should be connected to your access point. Sounds like your Router\Access point's DHCP server may have assigned a new IP address to your WiFi module.

Can you ping the WiFi module?

You should be able to connect to it by using the internal ip address, correct?

I can connect on iphone with the ip addy from the wifi setup utility only at home. The ip addy in the wifi utility is diffrent from my internal ip addy.

Ok, so you need to setup port forwarding on your router.

I cannot figure this out!! Simple port forwarding asks for what port to what port to forward too, it also asks for what IP address to forward too. I don't know what values to enter?

Linksys wrt160n ver 3. Why won't it automatically set up port forwarding like it did in the past?

No Clue.. But I would check in the router settings to see what ip address the ReefAngel Wifi module has first.. Then you can forward port 2000 to that ip address.. I like to do everything manual in the router.
Maybe this site will help

I finally got it working again!! After a week of trying. I never was able to figure out the manual port forwarding. I got frustrated and reset the router and went through the wifi setup wizard and it worked. The router set up the port forwarding without me having to do anything.
