RA returning incorrect info to Iphone App?

I did my routine maintenance tonight, but when I tried to use my phone to disable specific relays for the water change, it wouldn't connect. It showed all relays off, in manual mode. I unplugged the RA to do the water change, and after the water change the RA screen shows a temp of 67 degrees, the iphone shows a temp of 73.3 as it did before.

The Iphone app acts like it updated, but the info is old info. Where should I start looking? I've unplugged and cycled the RA a couple of times, but this persists. Any ideas?

Odds are its pulling old data and no current specs. Can you try the portal and see what info it displays. Odds are your wifi module is malfunctioning.

I heard of someone else with the same issue.
There may be a bug on the app.
He said the iphone app does that, but android doesn't... Both connected to the same RA.

I have no problem with the iphone application and I use it each day.

Maybe your connection might not be going outside your network so it is not updated when you check with your iphone?

Are you sure that your wifi module can broadcast outside the network?

Try removal and re install? I have no issues with my IPhone app

Wow thks, try all ways but forget abt the most basic way of reinstalling. Now my iPhone app is functioning well. However, if you notice my banner for reefangel and my portal information still states as of 11 Dec 2012. Anyone has an answer or solution for that? Thks

That is tied directly to the wifi module. Or port forwarding issues.

Thks for the info, however would there be such an issue when the iPhone app is displaying the right information? Cause if it's wifi issue or port forwarding then my iPhone app shouldn't be able to reflect the actual data using DDNS add right? Just wondering what steps I can take to troubleshoot. Thks!

The wifi module pushes the data from the ReefAngel to the Portal. When your using the iPhone app your pulling the data to the phone.. If you can connect to your wifi module using terraterm, putty or coolterm program on a mac and post the results of a "get e" then maybe we can figure out why your portal isn't updating..

Also post your code that you have uploaded to the ReefAngel head unit.

You can also turn off the security key feature in your code and on the portal to see if that helps.

Someone else said that if you uninstall and install the app again, you get it to work.
Have you tried that?

I'm thinking you are getting "live" data but the wifi isn't sending info to the portal because of forwarding issues. A way to test this is to disable your wifi on your iPhone and then use the iPhone app to pull data from outside your network. I bet this will not work and will prove that you have a port forwarding issue. The info you get now with your wifi on your iPhone enabled is live data within your network. If you get no data from outside your network you are not sending data to the portal for banner updates.

Port forwarding has nothing to do with portal updating...RA sends data out every 5 minutes over an outgoing connection initiated within the internal network.

IPhone app pulls the data from outside through the router and uses the forwarding..,

Hmm sounds a bit too much for me to understand but I'll try my best cause I'm not using a Mac. Will post the code shortly. Thks
