wifi won't connect
just picked up my RA today. i bought it used from a friend. got the RA all programmed and running great, but having a heck of a time with the wifi attachment. I've followed all the instructions to a T and still won't connect. using the WIFI utility i have entered the SSID which i assume is the router name which is my address. then i entered the password. its blinks and blinks and then says it cannot connect to my router. I'm on line right now wirelessly so obviously i have internet. i can't figure it out.
Re: wifi won't connect
SSID and password is case sensitive. Make sure you type it at the exact same case.
Also, make sure your wifi security is WPA2-PSK with AES encryption.

tried all that ended up running to walmart and getting a new router. the old crappy belkin wasn't cutting it i guess. now I'm connected. but now i put the ip address in the iPhone app and it connected and updated the info but won't do anything else and won't update.

Re: wifi won't connect
If you are trying to use the portal you need to have port 2000 in your router forwarded to the ip address of the Reefangel wifi module.

Re: wifi won't connect
that was easier than i thought. so now the portal is working. what do i need to do different with the iPhone app? its doing the same thing the portal was doing. ip address is the same as the one for the portal, port is 2000 DC is on, RA username is in.
Re: wifi won't connect
I would use the ip address of the reef angel wifi module in the iphone app and not the ip address that your router has from your isp..

Re: wifi won't connect
Got t to work. Just wont work when I'm not connected to wifi. Hopefully it will work on other networks.
Re: wifi won't connect
http://www.whatsmyip.org/ will tells you your ip address that your isp assigned to you.. The ip address that the wifi utility gave you is the one you should probably use in the iphone app..
Can you post your code of your RA unit?

Re: wifi won't connect
For it to work when your not connected to your wifi you will need to use a service like no-ip or dynddns or whatever is builtin to your router.. You can create a hostname like Cooterbrown.example.com and no matter what ip address the isp gives you it automatically forwards to your current ip address is.
