Ok cool. That helps me narrow things down. I'll see if I can get that fixed before I release the next version.rimai wrote:yes

Re: Android Reef Angel Status
Fixed the bug. It was a conditional check that was failing. If there was an expansion relay box installed, no matter how many, it would always return 1 instead of the correct number.
I have fixed the issue and it will be in the next release.

Just an update for you....00Warpig00 wrote:Awesome!
Does it spit the same notification tone as the "update fail" tone? Even with the double check before alert function you put in on the earlier version my phone still at least once or twice a day alerts me to an update fail. In all honesty I have learned to completely filter that notification tone out of my head when I hear it and just ignore it. Is there an ability to set the "Holy crap something is really wrong" tone to be different so i will actually take notice when it happens. It would be awesome if it could actually ring my phone like an incoming call when a parameter is noted "out of range". You know something I have to shut off or acknowledge for it to shut up Like a timer alarm, phone ring etc.

I don't think that this extra breakout of notifications will make it into this release. It's going to take a little bit longer than I expected. I want to get this release out and let people start using it to make sure that everything is functioning properly. This separation of notifications will be in the next release....promise. I know what needs to be done. I have the foundation for getting it handled, just not the time right now.
Plus, I want to release the "persistent notification" option at the same time I do this.
Re: Android Reef Angel Status
Testing has begun with the first release candidate. I just installed it on my phone and nexus 7. It appears to be working properly. I'm going to run it for a few days and see if anything crops up. If anybody wants to test it out, they are welcome to. It's in its usual spot on my server (http://curtbinder.info/apps/)or here's a qr code for a direct link:

Binder;
I keep getting a notification message that says Error 11, Bad URL.
What is it and how can I get rid of it?

That means it can't reach the controller. Is it working at all for you? What do you have the IP address set as?

Re: Android Reef Angel Status
It is working for me, but every couple of min I get that error message.
I am using no-ip.biz for a DNS name so that I don't have problems when my Internet Provide changes my IP address or I reboot my router and it changes.

Re: Android Reef Angel Status
Curious to know if you get this problem using the internal ip address when you are inside your wifi network.
can you test?

Re: Android Reef Angel Status
I get that too occasionally. I don't think much of it. I just turned the notification off.

Re: Android Reef Angel Status
I will check when I get home, but I think I still do.
I'm not 100% sure because even when I'm home I have the app set to away so it is still using the dns name, but I will try it as set to home and see what happens.

Re: Android Reef Angel Status
you can set the error retries....so it will try a couple times before giving you the error.cosmith71 wrote:I get that too occasionally. I don't think much of it. I just turned the notification off.

in the next release, the error retries will be improved and you will also get parameter notifications.
Re: Android Reef Angel Status
I'll try turning on the error re-tries.
It seems to have stopped happening since I changed my refresh rate from 1 min to 10 min.

Roberto, I get it when I'm on my home network.
Curt, how do you set up the parameter notifications? I'm using the RC.

Re: Android Reef Angel Status
if you are using 0.9.2.rc1, then choose notifications from the three dots (settings) on the actionbar. that will open up the notifications screen and you can create a parameter notification with the add button in the actionbar.cosmith71 wrote:Roberto, I get it when I'm on my home network.

I really like the new commands screen. Looks and works awesome. Unfortunately, it makes the relay screens look pale in comparison. Maybe a re-do in the style of the commands screen is in order somewhere down the road?
--Colin
Re: Android Reef Angel Status
yeah i was going to fix the commands buttons on the commands page. i dont think it scales properly on all devices, plus large tablets get the tiny icons instead of larger ones like i hoped.
i think the separate commands next to the date and time will go away soon because they are unneeded.

Re: Android Reef Angel Status
i have something else in mind for the relay screens.....a little more subtle and unique especially on larger screens. if i do it right, it can scale properly.
Re: Android Reef Angel Status
Where can I get 0.9.2.rc1?
I just installed it Saturday and Google Play has 9.1.

cool. the feedback you guys provide is great....keep it coming.
and, as before, the RC version will be updated by the official release without any problems. you will just see the changelog screen again.

Re: Android Reef Angel Status
that is saying that it is timing out trying to connect to the controller. it's exceeding the 15 second timeout period waiting for a response from the controller.pandimus wrote:This is what I'm seeing

Re: Android Reef Angel Status
What are the Custom Variables and how do you use or set them up?
Also how do you set up the dimming?
Channel 0 is the Actinic on the Relay box or does it have to be programmed?

Re: Android Reef Angel Status
Custom variables are variables that you can have the controller set as you wish. So if you wanted to monitor a certain value that was your own thing, then you can program your controller to update one of the variables as you needed it to be. Then you can set an alert based on that value.Sacohen wrote:What are the Custom Variables and how do you use or set them up?
An example would be if you wanted to monitor the number of times your ATO switch was activated throughout the day. You could setup a counter that counts how many times it is triggered and update the variable appropriately.
There are other examples, but I cannot think of them off hand.
I don't think I follow about setting up dimming. The 2 channels on the relay box are Actinic and Daylight PWM channels. Those are displayed on the main controller page. The Dimming page (dimming expansion module) is a separate module that contains 6 dimming channels. Also how do you set up the dimming?
Channel 0 is the Actinic on the Relay box or does it have to be programmed?
In order to use the dimming, you have to adjust the value being output by the controller in the code. You would use the ReefAngel.PWM.SetActinic() or ReefAngel.PWM.SetDaylight() functions to set the values for the PWM channels.
