Jebo wp40?

Post by 805reefer »

Hey guys I have a question I bought the wp40 and as of right now I am using the stock controller that it came with, the pump is way to powerful for my 65gal is there a way to turn down the flow on it with the stock controller or do I need to get the attachment cable that goes to my RA to make this happen? any help would be appreciated

No speed control on the stock controller

RA makes / sells a cable that allows you to control the speed of the pump. Check the store, its the Jebao cable.

You can either buy the cable for the RA controller and control it via the RA, or you can buy the Jebao power supply and keep using the Jebao controller. With that power supply you can lower the voltage and thus lower the strength of the pump if it's too powerful:

I went with the RA cable and will be controlling the pump via the reef angel. Best way to go I think but either way will work.

Where does this cable connect on the RA and where does in connect on the wavemaker? Do you still use the controller block that came with the jebao? I can't figure it out looking from the photos

It connects into one of the dimming ports on the RA (either actinic or daylight). You still use the power cable for the jebao but you don't need the controller since the RA handles the controlling. I have one but not installed in my system yet and it's just got the power cable and the connector to hook up to the RA. There are lots of other people using it with their RA as well.

Thanks binder. Does it matter if the controller is PWM or analog? Or it works on both?

Jebao has just released the version 1F of their controller.
Fish-Street is selling it for $13, but I think it may only available to Fish-Street customers.

If you already have the Reef Angle I would suggest getting the cable from the store here and controlling it with the RA, you have much more control and ability to do what you want with it.

i am not positive on this. my controller is pwm to the best of my knowledge so i would think it would be ok. however roberto or others would have to confirm this because i cannot confirm it yet.

I believe the cable can handle both analog or PWM.

I just found a thread that answers your question...
