meanwell driven led randomly turn off

Post by thekameleon »

I purchased the redseamax led retro fit kit from rapidled. It has 14 royal blue and 13 cool white less... The driver for the cool whites are fine but the royal blue driver is randomly turning off the leds 5 to 10 minutes at 100%. I have fans on everything. Any ideas?

Type of meanwells? If D or P did you adjust the dial for forward voltage?
Out for now...but not over.

No I did not the forward voltage is 48 vdc, and the current output was 1.5 so I reduced it to 1.25 and it seems better now. I just wonder how much light loss I will get with reducing the output by 250 ma

It's overdrive limit protection is all. Put it this way...if it wasn't shutting off...you'd have a burnt out/dead driver.

I thought they were designed to handle 1.5 amps... Oh well.

I think it's 1.3A
Look at the label in the enclosure to be sure.
