blinking red status light

Post by javisaman »

First time I've seen this. Right now the status light on the reef angel controller is blinking red. Both the ATO and Temp warnings are off. What does it mean?

Your expansion bus is getting locked.
What expansion modules are you using?

Does it blink 3 times? That typically means an I2C communication problem. Check all of your connections, especially on your USB cables. Do you have an expansion hub in use? I find that it tends to be the USB cables on the expansions or expansion hub.

yes it was the expansion hub. These cables are just awful, I might bite the bullet and replace all of them.

i Just had the same problem now got a flashing red light. First time. Its good i was awake when I notice my alert settings sending messages to my iPhone. I reboot the unit nothing happen 2x but after I experimented and unplugging and plugging the expansion hub back. Everything went back to normal after replacing the USB cord.

I have a similar problem except when I unplug my wifi, everything runs just fine. I can plug one device into the first relay and run the wifi just fine. I have two of these units and used both wifi units on the controller. I get the same thing on both.

I have two delays, a water level, and a PWM expansion connected. When everything is connected. I get a fast blinking red light.

Will changing out my USB cables address this?

Ok, I updated my libraries, changed all of my USB cables, used the wizard to create new code(cool interface on the update by the way!) and I am still getting bus errors.

I have the following expansions.

water level
pwm (analogue)
relay
wifi

I don't know what to do.

What happens if you disconnect the dimming module?

It has been about 17 hours and no errors with the dimming module unplugged.

Send me a PM. I'd like for us to try the new design module.
