Connecting Jebao pump with cable

Post by ReefingHavoc »

Getting my Jebao powerhead tomorrow and trying to set up the code to run various modes. I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but I couldn't find the answer to either question:

1. Is there any particular port I should be using to power it?

2. In the code, do I still control the on off for waterchange, feeding, etc. the same as I did with my other powerhead (relay.off)?

Thanks~~

The Jebao can be connected to any dimming port.
They will even work from the ATO port with a modified cable.

The on/off for feeding and water changes can be controlled through the relay.off or through the % the dimming port is set to.

I have mine go to 30% for feeding and 0% (or off) for water changes.

If you take a look at my code (there is link in my signature) or at paultuner911's code (http://forum.reefangel.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=3419) lnevo has set them up to randomly change modes every day or when the unit is rebooted.

This sounds like what you may want to do.

Good luck and enjoy the Jebao.

So it sound like I can use port 5 where my old power head was and set relay 5 to always on but simply turn down to 0% when I want it off. Thanks

You could, but it doesn't need to be in a port on the Relay at all.
Plug it in to any open outlet and set the code to go to 0% when you want it off.

IE.

Code: Select all

// Feeeding and Water Change mode speed
ReefAngel.DCPump.FeedingSpeed=30;
ReefAngel.DCPump.WaterChangeSpeed=0;
ReefAngel.DCPump.ActinicChannel=Sync; // Now you're pump will be affected by the portal settings.
ReefAngel.DCPump.DaylightChannel=AntiSync; // Now you're pump will be affected by the portal settings.

Makes sense. I have an extra outlet on the relay.

OK. That's fine then, but I'm sure there will be a point when you need that outlet and it is available now, but until then you can use it for the Jeabo.

I actually have my 2 Jebao's and my main circulation pump and skimmer pump plugged into a power strip and then the strip is plugged into the RA do when I do a WC they all get shut off at once.

Hey guys I have a dumb question. I just discovered the Jebao line of pumps and am wondering what it takes to connect the to my RA system. As near as I can tell from reading one needs to modify the Jebao controller. What I am unclear about is what needs to be done. Can you experts give me a hand?

All you need to do is get the Jeabo cable from the RA Story and then connect it to a dimming port.

Thanks Steve. I had looked through the store last night and completely missed it. Found it now.

No problem. It's pretty easy to setup too.
