Simpliest way to switch buttons

Post by wtitb »

Hi,

I'm new to this controller, so I hope this is not a silly question. The relay box is used to turn on/off any devices. But if I want to simply switch something like the standby button of my UPS or any other switch, what is the best way for this?
I thought of a 230V relay that is plugged into the relay box, but this seems a bit inconvenient.

cheers,
Christian

I do something similar with my Eheim auto-feeder. Basically what I'm doing is using a 5V relay connected to an old blackberry charger. When I turn on the outlet for the blackberry charger, it activates the relay which then closes the circuit connected to the manual switch on the eheim feeder. Hope this helps.

I just use one of the ATO ports to trigger my relay. http://forum.reefangel.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1415

I could use one of the ATO ports. Do you have a code sample that shows how to turn the relay on/off?
