Relay expansion box randomly resets

I have an issue where the relay box that's plugged into my relay expansion. When the relay expansion is plugged into the hub it will randomly make a loud clicking noise and drop power to all ports on the attached relay box for a split second. It will do this multiple times in an hour. If I plug the relay expansion directly into the head unit, the problem goes away. Any idea what's causing this?

Would you be able to swap relay boxes around and see what happens?

Yeah, but I won't be able to do that for a couple days. With that said, I've definitely narrowed it down to only when it's plugged in to the expansion hub. It would be easier for me to eliminate that as a possible cause just because of my cable management. Can I try it with a regular USB hub?

You can not use a standard usb hub with the Reef Angel. Although using USB cables, the Reef Angel does not use the USB protocol...

Just finished testing by swapping relay boxes and the other one exhibited the same behavior when plugged into the relay expansion while it is plugged into the expansion hub.

Do you have any other expansion modules?
Does the problem happen in different ports of the HUB?
Have you tried swapping cables around too?

I haven't tried the port swap-a-roo on the hub yet. I will do that next.

I also have the PH and Salinity Expansions.

The only cable I can see as potentially being bad is the cable from the RA to the Expansion Hub. Otherwise the other cable combinations work fine as long as they're attached directly to the head unit. Please don't make me swap the others, I spent too long making the cables look good.

It was a bad USB cable. Only did it when it was bent in a certain direction.

Mine does the same thing. It will cut for a second. I've tried switching them and nothing. Keith did you jus swap out the black USB cable and it worked for you?

Yeah. Swapped out the cable with another one I had. Seems to have fixed the problem.

I tried rearranging the wires to no avail. I'm gonna try getting my hands on another cable and see if that'll help.
