two wire temp probes

Post by GTi_Leo »

i am an electrician and i do a bit of PLC work. in grocery stores refridgerated cases use temp probes to monitor the temperatures of each case but are two wire probes, basically the same as the ones used in by RA, only thing i've noticed is the connectorss have all 3 wires being used. is there a way to get a two wire probe to work on our units?

The sensor is a Dallas DS18B20.
If your sensor is the same, you could use it in parasitic mode, but I'm not sure the distance you would be able to reach.
