Reef Radiance DM-165e
I purchased the Reef Radiance DM-165e with the upgrade kit for the reef angel. I have been trying to control the dimming with my Reef Angel+ and have not been able to figure it out. Does anyone have the experience doing this?
Re: Reef Radiance DM-165e
You did buy the dimming kit with it and had it installed right?

Let me see if I can figure out his pin out but I believe pin 1and 2 is one channel and pin 5-6 is the other channel. You basically need to hook up an ethernet cable to the light and splice the other end into your pwm ports. Not sure if that light uses pwm or analog.. Couple of factors that go into this.. Roberto might know straight up what they use

I have the 2- 2 pin connectors plugged into the expansion relay box.

Oic.. If you have the hardware already, you can setup the dimming in the wizard.. Have you tried that yet?

Yes, but I can't get it to work. My light fixture just stays on all the time.

Is your controller analog or pwm?

I don't know, I believe it is pwm. How do I find out?
Re: Reef Radiance DM-165e
You can put a multimeter on the two prong leads on your relay box and see if it is dimming by what it is reading
Re: Reef Radiance DM-165e
How old is this box?
At one point in the past, the dimming booster was optional. If your box is really old, you may not even have it.
The only way to find out is to open the box and find the revision number in the board.

It is stamped 8.1.
Re: Reef Radiance DM-165e
Wait you said expansion relay box? I believe you can't control dimming on that one.. Only main relay.

I read that some where also. My ato is connected the main relay box. Can I switch them, as in ato to expansion box and dimming to main box.

Inevo, you are correct. My brain was seeing main relay box and my mouth was speaking head unit.
Rimai, can the 2 - 2 pin ports on the expansion relay box be used, when the same ports on the main relay box are being used by Jebao pumps.

Re: Reef Radiance DM-165e
Negative.
Only the ports on the main relay box are usable.
If you need more channels, you need the dimming expansion module.
