Portal access

Post by ucez »

I can't seem to get direct access to the portal via http://ucez-reef.myreefangel.com/. I also cannot get access via the portal from the android ap. However, I can get access through the ReefAngel website and I can get direct access to the controller from either internet or android.

I believe it's something to do with my router settings because when I try via http://ucez-reef.myreefangel.com/, it sends me to my router website log-on.... Any thoughts on what I need to change?.

is myreefangel.com your own domain? do you have the port forwarded in your router?

I thought myreefangel was the domain to the portal? Am I using the wrong address?

I checked port forwarding on http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/. It says OK, plus I can get access to the controller directly, so assume the port must be forwarding. It really seems like the domain name is wrong?

It seems that your heart must be forwarded correctly. If you have not done so already you will need to create a DNS name to point to your router at your house. Myreefangel.com is not the correct DNS name to point to your router. You can test temporary access through the portal via an IP address. If you go to a web browser and type in whatismyip.com it should tell you what your public address is. Put that address in under the portal settings and see if it connects.

ucez-reef.myreefangel.com points to your Reef Angel, not the portal. The android app uses this address to get info from your controller directly.

For the portal, just use the "Portal" link near the top right of the Reef Angel website. Or this.
