Plus to Star
I have a RA plus I have been running for years. Everything is great except I constantly have to unplug the wifi and plug it back in to get it to connect. A pain if I am not home and want to check on the tank.. I am intrigued by the star because you can just hard wire the internet connection.
My question, would it just be plug and play of I upgraded? Once I get the star, just connect to my laptop, upload the code that I am using on my plus and be good to go?
Thanks,

Yes, you can just hard wire an ethernet cable.
It would be a simple upgrade. You just upload your code to the RA*. There are a few things to change, but it may be just a few lines.
Or you can also generate a whole new code with the webwizard: https://forum.reefangel.com/webwizard/

Re: Plus to Star
Can I connect my old relay expansion to the new style star relay? One new and one old relay box?

Re: Plus to Star
So both relays connect directly to the star instead of daisy chained together?

Re: Plus to Star
I have my Star plugged in and set up. The new relay that came with the star is plugged into one of the USB on the Star. One of the old relays is plugged into the relay box with the pin connection, then the relay is plugged into the second USB connection on the Star. On my app it is showing main relay and 2 expansion. However, it is only letting me adjust ports on expansion relay 1. Main relay and expansion 2 are not doing anything.. Please help!

I also cannot get the star to connect to the cloud. I get an IP address on the screen, but Cloud Connection: Disconnected. I have an ethernet cable connected to it.
Re: Plus to Star
There is no main relay on RA*.
All relay boxes need to be set up as expansion boxes
You need to make sure to setup the dip switches on the universal relay box and the relay expansion box correctly.
Make sure that one is set to ID 1 and the other to ID 2

Okay, I had the old relay box with the extension hub as ID1, but I had to change to ID2 to work.
Any advice to get the cloud connected? I logged in when I used the web wizard. Even tried changing the password and doing it again. Right now I can only update through wifi on the old Android app. Can't use uapp.

Re: Plus to Star
Thank you. I thought I updated it, but I realized it was not uploading. I plugged the controller into the laptop to upload and it worked. Now if I want to make changes, how do I do the remote upload? In the wizard it will show that it was successful and it may take up to 5 minutes, but it never updates on the Star?
Re: Plus to Star
Remote upload was an experimental thing and it didn't work 100% of the time for everyone.
You may be able to get it to work or you may not.

Re: Plus to Star
So the only way to update it would be to plug in directly to the star, correct?
