Theoretically can two or more WIFI units/ReefAngels be run on the same network giving access to separate Portal pages?
Would there be conflict on Port Forwarding through the Firewall if each unit used the default setting of 2000 as provided by Dave's WIFI set-up module?
If so what should the various port numbers be and how would they be changed on each wifi unit (guess via command line)?
At the moment this is research, as I may need more RA units for a fish room.
Thanks
Theoretical WIFI question?
Re: Theoretical WIFI question?
You can have multiple wifi attachments in your network, but they would need to be set to different ports.
I don't think Dave's utility set 2000 as default. You have to type which port you want to use on the local port field.
You can use 2001 for the next wifi or pick your own port.
Then just forward each port you use to the appropriate ip address.
If you want to see 2 portal pages, you would need to create a new forum id.

Re: Theoretical WIFI question?
Thank you Roberto,
I thought it would be possible as I have in the past setup a number of IP devices. I was not sure if each wifly would have to use a unique device ID or if the IP address was all that was needed for the portal.
Would it be possibly to link several RA head units with a common wifi?
I am hoping when I move to have a fish room with both marine and freshwater, so would like to monitor the systems separately. I plan on breeding some marines as well as Discus, so will need strict control over PH and temperature.
I think that this will be about six months down the line.
Thank again.

Re: Theoretical WIFI question?
I'm currently doing it. I have 2 wifi units setup on my network. Both are configured the same way (same port, just different IPs). On my router, I have port 2000 going to the main one and 2010 going to the second one. One of them is running 0.8.5.19 and the other 0.9.0. They are working like a champ.
